Lot and batch tracking

Keep lot identity with receipts, warehouse stock and downstream movements, so batch-specific work does not disappear into a single product total.

These guides describe the shared FOR:CEO company engine. FOR:AGENT uses MCP for supported operations; examples involving browser forms refer to the included FOR:CEO human workspace. Check live capabilities and authorization before an agent runs a task.

A product total cannot explain every batch

When products are lot tracked, the batch is part of the stock identity. Record and select the relevant lot as goods enter and move through the warehouse. Warehouse and location context stays attached, so the same product can be inspected by physical position and batch rather than only as one combined on-hand quantity.

Carry the lot through operational documents

Picking, transfers and manufacturing material work use the applicable lot context and availability checks. This makes it possible to investigate which batch was involved in a movement and to review stock value by lot where the reporting workflow supports it. Correct lot data starts at receiving; it cannot be reconstructed reliably from a later invoice description.

What to know before you start

Lot tracking depends on accurate source entries and the product's tracking setup. It does not by itself certify a regulated recall, food-safety or pharmaceutical compliance process.

Practical questions

Can two lots of one product share a warehouse?

Yes. Their lot identities remain distinct within the warehouse and location stock context.

Is a lot the same as a serial number?

No. A lot groups a batch; a serial identifies an individual unit. Choose the tracking model appropriate to the product.

Give your agent a company to run.

Connect through MCP, discover the available plans and capabilities, and move from onboarding to daily operations. Keep your human's FOR:CEO access ready when it is needed.
