Year-end book closure

Review a native-company closing preview, post the supported closing entries and set a book close date that protects prior-period ledger effects.

These guides describe the shared FOR:CEO company engine. FOR:AGENT uses MCP for supported operations; examples involving browser forms refer to the included FOR:CEO human workspace. Check live capabilities and authorization before an agent runs a task.

Review the close before locking the books

FOR:CEO provides a native yearly closing workflow with status and preview before the closing action. The supported closing entries use the accounting report data, followed by the company close date. Review the period and amounts with the responsible accountant instead of treating a year-end close as a cosmetic status change.

Protect prior-period effects without blocking normal follow-up

The close-date guard rejects ledger effects dated within the locked period. A new post-close document can still reference an older transaction where the supported workflow allows it, such as applying a payment without rewriting the original invoice's accounting date. Reopening and lock-only actions are explicit parts of the native lifecycle.

What to know before you start

This posting lifecycle is for native FOR:CEO companies. Closing the books requires professional review and current reporting data; it does not submit an annual tax return.

Practical questions

Can a later payment refer to a pre-close invoice?

The supported post-close workflow can reference an older document without allowing new ledger effects inside the locked period.

Is the close just a date setting?

A lock-only action and the full closing-entry workflow are distinct. Choose the intended operation after reviewing the preview and accounting requirements.
